to 80 West past 89 North to 89 South at Truckee, 13 miles to Tahoe
City, stay straight through stoplight-the only stoplight in town-at
intersection of 89-28, stay on 28/North Lake Blvd, first left
at Grove Street, 2nd house on right. Scenic Route (70-90 minutes) 395 South
to Mount Rose Hwy/431 (great lake views) West to 28 West to Tahoe
City, past Safeway (good sandwiches), right on Grove Street, 2nd
house on right.
From San Francisco Airport One Route, Not Too Scenic (90-120 minutes)
East to Sacramento, 101 North to 80 East over Bay Bridge, continue
on 80 East past Vallejo, Fairfield, Davis to Sacramento, follow
signs to Reno and stay on 80 East, then follow directions below
from Sacramento.
From
Sacramento Fast Route (105-135 minutes) 80 East
past Auburn, past Colfax, past Emigrant Gap, past Cisco, over
Donner Summit (yes, that Donner Party Summit), past Donner Lake
to 89 South for 13 miles to Tahoe City, stay straight through
stoplight at intersection of 89-28, stay on 28/North Lake Blvd,
first left at Grove Street, 2nd house on right. Scenic Route (140-180 minutes) 50 East
to South Lake Tahoe, 89 North past Emerald Bay (often closed during
winter) to light at 89-28 intersection, right on 28/North Lake
Blvd, first left at Grove Street, 2nd house on right.
